What role does creativity play in your journey toward living authentically, and how do you nurture it?

My answer: Creativity plays a central role in my journey toward living authentically, especially as someone who is autistic. It serves as a vital tool for expressing myself and communicating in ways that feel genuine and true to who I am. For me, creativity isn't just an activity or a hobby; it's an essential part of my identity. It allows me to convey my thoughts and feelings when words alone may not suffice, bridging the gap between my inner world and the outside.

Being autistic, my creativity often manifests uniquely, allowing me to see patterns, connections, and ideas that others might overlook. It helps me approach problems differently and think outside the box, which is incredibly empowering. To nurture my creativity, I make time for activities that inspire me, such as writing, graphic design, and exploring new coding projects. I also surround myself with people and environments that encourage creative expression, allowing me to embrace my authentic self fully. In this way, creativity not only helps me communicate more effectively but also deepens my understanding of myself and my place in the world

For years, I was all about getting things done. My days were a checklist of tasks, a race against the clock—until I began to rediscover parts of myself that had been quietly waiting in the wings.

Creativity, whether through writing, art, music, or simply connecting with others—became the truest expression of who I am. It's not just about crossing items off a list; it's about tapping into the wellspring of creativity that flows through all of us.

Now, I realize that my authentic self isn't just the one who gets things done—it's the one who creates, connects, and thrives in community. It's a journey of embracing my creative soul and letting it shine in everything I do.
